By the end of Paul’s workshop I was feeling really positive about what I learned; about how I could approach my own work and supervisors in a more positive manner — mainly how I could maintain being happy without depending on someone or something else.
I help manage the safety of quite a few labs. Using what I’ve learned, I’m really going to try to focus on engaging staff more, in areas that we need improvement on. Instead of making up the usual reports and emailing them out, I will ask for brief, open office — not “meeting room” — chats. First one was yesterday — it was awesome. I had great feedback and people were motivated and volunteered to do the needed changes.
I loved Paul’s humor and his energy was right on — not over the top — and sincere, which is really important.
